Uitslag Laax Open slopestyle

Zo! Dat was de Laax Open wat wedstrijden betreft, de slopestyle finales zitten er ook op. De dag begon met de vrouwen die hun finale om half 11 startte en WOW wat een crash maakte Cheryl Maas in haar laatste run. Helm doormidden, maar verder stond ze wel weer op. Het heeft de highlights niet gehaald, maar in de on-demand livestream zie het het op ongeveer 35:30.

Helaas werd Cheryl dus zesde en was het de Amerikaanse Jamie Anderson die met overmacht eerste werd. Christy Prior werd solide tweede en Miyabi Onitsuka uit Japan bleef net Silje Norendal voor. Spencer O’Brien landde haar run ook niet, maar bleef toch Cheryl voor. Check hieronder de complete slopestyle uitslag:

Na de lunchpauze mochten de mannen aan de bak en zij wisten wel raad met het vette parcours. Of beter gezegd, de Canadezen wisten wel raad met het vette parcours! De top 5 bestaat uit Canadezen met Mark McMorris hard aan de leiding. Peetu Piiroinen is best of the rest op plaats 6, maar komt eerlijk gezegd niet eens in de buurt van de Canadezen. Mark McMorris run was supervet en dus was de eerste plaats meer dan verdiend.

After another weather delay this morning due to bad visibility and strong winds, the skies cleared to a beautiful final day of competition at the 2016 LAAX OPEN. With 12 men and 6 women taking to the progressive and pristine slopestyle course, we saw one of the most entertaining finals, with the riders knowing there was $75,000 USD for the men, and $45,000 USD for the ladies on the line for first place. The pros had three runs to give it their best shot, but it was ultimately 22- year-old, Mark McMorris, and 25-year-old, Jamie Anderson, who walked away 2016 LAAX OPEN Slopestyle Champions.
